For those of you who follow me on Twitter or tune into my weekly radio show you'll know I'm obsessed with web series or "Web Television". I love that this platform showcases stories and characters to that your average TV channel wouldn't even consider "TV worthy". The producers and writers behind web channels such as Black and Sexy TV. BWNG and Wong Fu Productions have cult followings and are clearly providing content that people want to see.
Enter Cecile Emeke's latest project, "Ackee and Saltfish: The Webseries".
A series based on two Black British women who are smart, funny and don't exist within the stereotypes of the "girl from the hood" or the "Black BFF". Watching the leading characters, Olivia and Rachel feels like I'm watching a conversation between myself and my friends. I can't remember the last time I watched a TV show that I could find so relatable and entertaining.
